Prawns Curry (Without Coconut)

This Prawns Curry is a very simple recipe of prawns cooked in an onion-tomato gravy. This is my go-to recipe when I want to make some prawns curry quickly.
Ingredients
  • Onions: 1 big
  • Garlic: 2 cloves
  • Tomatoes: 2 medium
  • Prawns: 1 cup shelled and deveined
  • Turmeric powder: 1 tsp
  • Chili Powder: 2 tsp
  • Curd: 2 tbsp
  • Salt: to taste
  • Coriander: to garnish
Instructions
  1. Apply 1 tsp chili powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder and salt to taste to prawns and keep aside.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Add garlic and onion and stir fry till translucent.
  3. Add tomatoes and stir fry till tomatoes become soft.
  4. Add remaining turmeric powder, chili powder and salt and mix well. Keep aside and let cool.
  5. Grind the onion tomato mixture to paste.
  6. In the same pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Stir fry the prawns till white.
  7. Add the paste to the prawns and mix well. Let cook for a few minutes.
  8. Add curd and mix well.
  9. Garnish with coriander.
