Crunchy Paneer Pakora

Crunchy Paneer Pakodas with a hot cup of masala chai are just the things you need at the end of a tiring day. These pakoras are very easy to make, use simple ingredients and get ready very quickly.
Ingredients
  • Cottage Cheese (Paneer): 250 gms
  • Chickpea Flour (Besan): ½ cup
  • Garlic paste: 1 tsp
  • Ginger Paste: 1 tsp
  • Chili Powder: ½ – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder: ¼ tsp
  • Soda Bicarbonate: A pinch
  • Salt: to taste
  • Oil: to deep fry
  • Cornflakes (crushed): As required for deep frying
Instructions
  1. Mix together the besan, ginger paste, garlic paste, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and soda bicarbonate. Add a little water and mix well to form a thick batter.
  2. Cut the paneer into small cubes.
  3. Dip each paneer piece in the besan batter and then roll it in the cornflakes. Deep fry the paneer pakora till golden brown. I served these pakoras with tomato ketchup. If you like chutney more, you can serve it with that.
