Garam Masala is a blend of whole spices which have been roasted and ground.
Ingredients
  • Coriander Seeds: 1 cup
  • Cloves: 1 tbsp
  • Peppercorns: 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon: 1 tbsp
  • Fennel Seeds: ⅛ cup
Instructions
  1. Heat ¼ tsp of oil in a pan. Add cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and stir till they turn slightly brown.
  2. Add fennel seeds and stir fry till slightly brown. Take it aside.
  3. Add coriander seeds and stir fry till brown.
  4. Let all the spices cool down and then grind to a fine powder. Store in air tight container.
