Shepuche Pole (Dill Leaves Dosa)

Dill leaves have several health benefits. This is a very simple and delicious dosa recipe which I had always loved as a kid and now my daughter loves it too. It is a great option for breakfast and a good tiffin box option too.

I believe that it tastes best with Butter.

Methi Paratha

Here is a very simple paratha recipe. It serves as a great breakfast or lunch option as well as a great tiffin box option for my toddler and lunch box option for my hubby. Great isn’t it?

You can replace the methi leaves with palak leaves or grated carrot too. These parathas can be served with pickle, butter, tomato ketchup or chutney. In my house, everyone enjoys these parathas with butter.

Beetroot Paratha

Beetroot is rich in nutrients and minerals and packed with anti-oxidants, but low in fat. It has several heath benefits and including it as a part of your diet on a regular basis is very beneficial.

Plus, the red color of beetroot is so bright that kids love the color. However, getting them to eat it might be a bit of a challenge. This recipe of beetroot paratha is perfect as it combines the goodness of beetroot and feta cheese together and provides a complete balanced meal with carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, calcium and vitamin D. My kiddo loved it and it serves as a breakfast or tiffin box item for her quite often.

Sweet Appe (Appe Cake)

Appe are small crispy round balls which are very popular in South Indian cuisine, served mostly for breakfast or as a snack. They can be made in several different ways. This recipe is for sweet Appe made with whole wheat flour, jaggery and milk. A very complete meal in itself…isn’t it? Wheat flour provides carbohydrates, jaggery is a rich source of iron and milk provides calcium and vitamin D. Sometimes I even mash bananas and add them to the batter, for additional health benefits.

Now you must be wondering why the name Appe cake? Well, the first time I made them for my toddler, she just loved them and said “mamma, it tastes just like cake.” And she was the one who named it appe cake. It is also an excellent tiffin box snack for kids. So try it out…I am sure your kid would like it too.
