Trifle

Trifle is a delicious dessert which consists of a combination of jelly, sponge cake and custard. you can also make your own version of it by adding fruits of your choice, whipped cream etc. My mom used to make this very often when we were kids and I remember how much we would love it.

A few days back, I was wondering what to make for dessert and I suddenly remembered that I had not eaten Trifle for a very long time. I decided to make it and it was a super hit in my house. It is also a very simple recipe, and can serve as a perfect dessert if you are having guests over. You can either use ready made sponge cake or make your own.

It’s almost like a puff – having a flour based cover, with a sweet stuffing inside and deep fried. The recipe here is of a slightly different variety, i.e. the cover is made of sweet potatoes and its shallow fried. Sounds interesting? Check out the recipe.
