Banana Paniyaram or Banana Appe

BananaPaniyaram or appe are small crispy round balls made with banana and semolina.
Ingredients
  • Banana: 3 big bananas
  • Sugar: 2 tbsp
  • Semolina: 1 and ¼ cup
  • Bicarbonate of Soda: ¼ tsp
  • Curd: 3 tbsp
  • Cashew Nuts: ¼ cup broken into small pieces(optional)
  • Raisins: 10-12 (optional)
  • Salt: to taste
  • Ghee: for frying
Instructions
  1. Mash the bananas. You will get around 1 and ½ cups of mashed bananas.
  2. Add sugar, semolina, curd, cashew nuts, raisins, salt and bicarbonate of soda and mix well. You can adjust the amount of sugar added as per the sweetness of the bananas.
  3. Heat the appe pan. Add a few drops of ghee in each slot of the pan.
  4. Put banana batter in each slot to make it ¾ full.
  5. Let cook till golden brown on one side. Turn over and let cook on other side too.
Notes
You can adjust the amount of sugar added as per the sweetness of the bananas.
