- Onion: 1 finely chopped
- Garlic: 10 cloves finely chopped
- Red Amaranth(Tambdi Bhaji): 5-6 cups chopped
- Toor Dal: ¼ cup
- Scraped Coconut: ½ cup
- Tamarind: 1 marble sized ball
- Green Chilies: 2 big
- Turmeric Powder: ½ tsp
- Salt: to taste
- Grind the coconut, green chilies and tamarind into a smooth paste.
- Pressure cook the dal, red amaranth and onion (5 whistles).
- Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic and stir fry till brown.
- Add ground paste and dal-amaranth mixture to the pan. Mix well.
- Add turmeric powder and salt along with little water. Close lid and bring to boil.
