Spicy Beer Prawns

Spicy Beer Prawns is a quick prawn starter recipe in which prawns are cooked in a beer based gravy. This mouth-watering dish has a very unique taste.
Ingredients
  • Prawns: 500 gm shelled and deveined
  • Onion: 1 medium finely chopped
  • Garlic: 4 cloves finely chopped
  • Ginger: 1 inch piece finely chopped
  • Coriander: 2 tbsp finely chopped
  • Beer: ⅔ cup
  • Tomato Ketchup: ½ cup
  • Red Chili Flakes: ¾ tsp
  • Pepper Powder: ¼ tsp
  • Red Chili Powder: 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
  • Salt: to taste
Instructions
  1. Apply chili powder, turmeric powder and salt on the prawns and keep aside.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Add onion, garlic and ginger and stir fry till translucent.
  3. Add beer, tomato ketchup, salt, pepper, coriander and chili flakes. Bring to boil.
  4. Add prawns and cook on low heat till prawns are cooked. Garnish with coriander. Let gravy dry up a little.
Notes
We wanted to have it as a starter, so allowed the gravy to dry up completely. In case you want to eat it with bread or rice or roti, you can keep some gravy.
