Spicy Beer Prawns is a quick prawn starter recipe in which prawns are cooked in a beer based gravy. This mouth-watering dish has a very unique taste.
Ingredients
Prawns: 500 gm shelled and deveined
Onion: 1 medium finely chopped
Garlic: 4 cloves finely chopped
Ginger: 1 inch piece finely chopped
Coriander: 2 tbsp finely chopped
Beer: ⅔ cup
Tomato Ketchup: ½ cup
Red Chili Flakes: ¾ tsp
Pepper Powder: ¼ tsp
Red Chili Powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
Salt: to taste
Instructions
Apply chili powder, turmeric powder and salt on the prawns and keep aside.
In a pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Add onion, garlic and ginger and stir fry till translucent.
Add beer, tomato ketchup, salt, pepper, coriander and chili flakes. Bring to boil.
Add prawns and cook on low heat till prawns are cooked. Garnish with coriander. Let gravy dry up a little.
Notes
We wanted to have it as a starter, so allowed the gravy to dry up completely. In case you want to eat it with bread or rice or roti, you can keep some gravy.
