Vegetable Pulao is a rice dish prepared by cooking rice with various vegetables and spices.
Ingredients
  • Basmati Rice: 2.5 cups
  • Onion: 2 medium finely chopped
  • Green Peas: 1.5 cups
  • Carrots: 2 cups cut into thin strips
  • Cinnamon: 3 pieces
  • Cardamom: 8
  • Cloves: 12
  • Bay Leaves: 3
  • Cumin Seeds: 1 tsp
  • Oil: 4 tbsp
  • Water: 6.5 cups
  • Salt: 3.5 tsp
Instructions
  1. Wash and soak rice in water for ½ hour.
  2. In a pan, heat oil. Add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves and cumin seeds. Stir fry briefly.
  3. Add onion and stir fry till translucent.Add carrots and green peas and fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Add rice and salt and fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the water. Close lid and let cook on medium heat till rice is completely cooked.
