A very healthy and easy Paneer Sandwich (Cottage Cheese Sandwich) recipe which serves as a great breakfast, tiffin box or snack option.
Yesterday I realized that I had some paneer in the fridge which needed to be finished on an urgent basis. I had not planned anything for breakfast and sandwiches are always an easy and filling option in such cases. My daughter also loves them in her tiffin box. Hence I decided to make Paneer sandwich which has a yummy and healthy paneer filling. It turned out great.
Here is the step by step Paneer sandwich recipe with pictures:
Makes: 5 sandwiches
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
Paneer: 250 gm
Onion: 1 finely chopped
Tomato: 1 finely chopped
Green Peas: 1/4 cup
Green chilly: 1 small finely chopped
Chili Powder: 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice: 1 tsp
Salt: 1 tsp
Pepper Powder: 1/4 tsp
Bread Slices: 10
Butter: As required
Method of Preparation:
- Heat oil in a pan. Add onion and stir fry till translucent.
- Add tomatoes and green peas and stir fry till tomatoes are soft.
- Add paneer, lemon juice, green chilly, chili powder, salt, pepper powder and mix well. Let cook for a minute. Divide the paneer filling into 5 portions.
- Apply butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Take one of the bread slices, and put a portion of the paneer mixture on the side which does not have butter.
- Cover with non buttered side of other bread slice.
- Make sandwiches in a sandwich toaster.
