Prawns dangar is the Goan version of Prawns cutlets. It serves as a great appetizer or can also be served as a part of the main course.
Prawns appetizers are always a hit in my house specially to serve when guests come over : Prawns stuffed Snake Gourd, Prawns Pockets, Prawns Varuval, Butter Garlic Masala Prawns are some of my favorites at these times.
Prawns Dangar is another such appetizer which I love making as it uses all simple ingredients and is extremely easy to make.
Here is the step by step recipe of Prawns Dangar with pictures:
Makes: 11-12 Dangars
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
Semolina: 1 cup
Prawns: 1 cup small
Scrapped Coconut: 2 tsp
Onion: 1 finely chopped
Coriander: 2 tbsp finely chopped
Chilli Powder: 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala: 1/2 tsp
Salt: to taste
Method of Preparation:
- Mix all the ingredients mentioned above and add 1/2 to 3/4 cup water to make thick mixture.
- Divide the mixture into 12 parts.
- Take each part and flatten it using your palm.
- Heat oil in a flat frying pan and shallow fry the dangar till golden brown on both sides.
