My daughter loves Prawns Pulav. When she is in the mood to have it and I am short on time, I usually make this version of Prawns Pulav. It is quick to make and tasty too.
There is another more elaborate version of Prawns Pulav which I also make and love. I would be posting it soon. But until then, here is the simpler and quicker version for you 
Serves: 3
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
Prawns : 20 medium sized
Basmati Rice : 2 cups
Cardamom : 3
Cloves : 3
Cinnamon : 1 inch stick
Onion : 2 medium sized finely chopped
Tomato : 2 medium sized finely chopped
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
Chilly powder : 2-3 tsp
Coriander: 2 tbsp finely chopped
Salt: to taste
Basmati Rice : 2 cups
Cardamom : 3
Cloves : 3
Cinnamon : 1 inch stick
Onion : 2 medium sized finely chopped
Tomato : 2 medium sized finely chopped
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
Chilly powder : 2-3 tsp
Coriander: 2 tbsp finely chopped
Salt: to taste
Method of Preparation:
- Apply salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp chilli powder to the prawns and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and briefly saute the cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. Add onions and saute till translucent.
- Add prawns and saute till they turn whitish.
- Add tomatoes, coriander, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1-2 tsp chilly powder and salt. Saute till tomatoes turn soft.
- Add rice and stir fry briefly.
- Heat 5 cups of water separately and add to rice. Close lid and let cook till rice is completely cooked.
