Semolina Crusted Fried chicken or Rawa Fried Chicken is a delicious chicken appetizer in which chicken is marinated in a green coriander-chili paste and shallow fried with a semolina coating. The marination paste used here is the same one which is used to marinate chicken in Chicken Xacuti (The Goan Chicken Curry). So usually whenever I make Xacuti, I make some extra paste to make this yummy appetizer.
Chicken appetizers are always a hit when we have guests over and when planned in advance, some good ones to make are Murg Palak ke Korme or Honey Pepper Chicken or Chicken Cafreal. However, these appetizers do take some time for marination and preparation. Hence when you are short on time and want to make some chicken appetizer, Semolina Crusted Fried Chicken is something you must try. It is so easy to make and does not require any marination. Also the ingredients required are very readily available in the kitchen.

Ingredients:
Chicken: 500 gm cut into small pieces
Green Chilly: 1-2 big
Garlic: 10 cloves
Ginger: 1 inch piece
Coriander: 1 cup
Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
Salt: to taste
Semolina: for frying
Oil: for frying
Method of Preparation:
- Grind green chillies, garlic, ginger, coriander to paste.
- Apply the green paste, turmeric powder and salt to the chicken pieces and keep aside for some time.
- Heat oil in a flat frying pan. Coat chicken pieces in semolina and shallow fry on the frying pan till golden brown on all sides.
