Here is a very basic eggless chocolate cake recipe.
Anything with chocolate and I go WOW ? May it be a chocolate drink or a cake like Choco Lava Caka/Cola Cake/Chocolate Fudge Brownie or Choco Chip Cookies, I cannot keep my hands of them.
This time I tried a very simple eggless chocolate cake. It turned out very good and my kiddo just loved the M&M touch.
Here is the step by step eggless chocolate cake recipe with pictures:
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
For the cake:
All Purpose flour: 1 cup
Cocoa Powder: 2 tbsp
Baking Powder: 1 tsp
Bicarbonate of Soda: ½ tsp
Sweetened Condensed milk: ½ tin
Melted Butter: ½ cup
Vanilla Essence: 1 tsp
Water: 100 ml
For the icing
Icing Sugar: 100 gm
Cocoa Powder: 1 tsp
Butter: 50 gm
Vanilla essence: 2-3 drops
M& M: for decoration
Method of Preparation:
To make cake
- Sift together the all purpose flour, cocoa powder, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder.
- Combine all the ingredients for the cake in a bowl and whisk well to form a smooth batter.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking tin.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for around 20 minutes. You know the cake is cooked if a knife inserted in the cake comes out clean.
- Unmould and let cool on wire rack.
To make icing
- Sieve the cocoa powder and icing sugar and keep aside.
- In a bowl, cream the butter till smooth.
- Gradually add the cocoa powder – icing sugar mixture to the butter and whisk well.
- Add vanilla essence and mix well.
The final steps
- Apply the icing on top of the cake and at the sides.
- Use M&M to decorate the cake.
