Chicken ala king is an easy to make yet very delicious chicken recipe. The unique part of this chicken ala king are the eggs that are added almost as the last step. The eggs gives the thickness as well as the creaminess to the gravy. A recipe having both chicken and eggs -sound royal? Maybe thats the why chicken ala king 🙂

Ingredients:
Chicken : 900 gms (curry cut pieces and cleaned)
Onion : 3 (chopped)
Tomato : 2 (chopped)
Green Chilli : 6 (5 slit, 2 finely chopped)
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Oil : 4 tbsp
Eggs – 2
Coriander : for garnishing
For the marinate:
Ginger – 1 inch
Garlic : 15 cloves
Green Chilli – 5
Coriander – 1 cup
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Salt : as per taste
Method of Preparation:
Grind all the ingredients mentioned for marinate. Apply evenly to the chicken pieces. Keep aside for at least 30 minutes
- Heat oil in a skillet. Add onion and green chillies and leave till the onion turns golden brown.
- In the meanwhile, add chicken in a pan. Keep covered on low flame till the chicken pieces are cooked. The chicken pieces will tend to leave water so you may not need to add water.
- Once the onion is cooked, add tomatoes and cook for another 5 min.
- Transfer the cooked chicken to the onion tomato mix. Stir gently. Cover the lid and cook for another 3 min.
- Break in the eggs and keep stirring till the eggs are mixed well.
- Garnish with coriander and your Chicken ala king is ready.
This dish goes best with bread.
